Prayer

Prayer is incorporated and encouraged throughout the school day. We start our day as a school family in our morning assembly where songs for Mass are practiced, the Gospel is read and discussed, prayers are offered, the pledge to the U.S. and Texas flags are recited, and a patriotic song is sung. Students pray before and after their lunch, the entire school pauses and prays the Angelus together during the noon hour, and the school day ends with a closing prayer over the intercom chosen by a 5th or 6th grader. Prayer is the cornerstone of our relationship with Christ and allows us to walk in faith with Him.

Knowledge

While education helps students accumulate information and develop skills of reasoning, Catholic education in particular rises above the secular form of knowledge and helps students appreciate God's Truth, goodness, and beauty as found in His creation and His Church. We feel that growing in this type of learning occurs through each encounter we experience in our lives - be it academically, spiritually, or socially.

By incorporating the study and practice of virtue, students are shaped in character and guided  toward holiness, human flourishing, and a deeper relationship with God.

Community

As our school motto states, we are called to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, minds, and strength, and our neighbor as ourselves. We are blessed to live in a small community where we can interact with and give back to those around us. God calls us all to serve others in need. At Sacred Heart we are able to perform service projects throughout the year to help and show our support of various entities both within and outside of our Fayette County Community. We know it takes a community of parents, families, teachers, and role models to form young disciples of Christ and we are grateful to partner with the Body of Christ outside our school walls.
