Mission and Vision

Mission & Vision

Mission Statement:

Enter to Learn...
Exit to Lead
Sacred Heart Catholic School exists to form young disciples who love the Lord their God with all their hearts, minds, and strength and the neighbor as themselves.

Vision Statement:

Forming young disciples through our core values of prayer, knowledge, and community

Core Values:

Prayer

Prayer is incorporated throughout the school day. We start the day off with morning assembly where songs for Mass are practiced, the Gospel is read and discussed, prayers are said, the pledge to the U.S. and Texas flags are recited, and we close with a patriotic song. Students pray before and after lunch, the entire school stops and says the Angelus together, and each class says a closing prayer at the end of the school day. Prayer is the cornerstone of our communication with Jesus and allows us to walk in faith with Him.

Knowledge

Knowledge is defined as facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; and the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject. We feel that learning occurs through each encounter we experience in our lives. At SHCS learning includes academics, faith formation, life skills, and virtues to become more Christ-like and be joyful disciples.

Community

We live in community with each other and God calls us all to serve others in need. SHCS knows it takes a community of parents, families, teachers, and role models to form young disciples to follow Christ’s teachings by serving others as seen in our service projects.
